Dedicated theater vs media room
Both deliver a great picture and sound. The right one depends on the space and how the room will be used.
Dedicated theater
A room designed only for film: controlled light, acoustic treatment, tiered seating and projection on a large screen.
Media room
A living space that also works for movies and sports: a large display or projector, hidden speakers and lighting scenes for day and night.
Distributed AV
Music and video through the rest of the house, the terrace and the pool, all on the same remote.
Designed as a room, not a box of equipment
Acoustic design
Room dimensions, isolation from the rest of the home, absorption and diffusion planned for clear dialogue and controlled bass.
Seating and sightlines
Screen size, viewing distance and riser height planned so every seat has a clear view and is inside the sound field.
Quiet equipment
Equipment racks located outside the room with proper ventilation, so the only thing you hear is the film.
Picture and sound
Projectors, screens and speakers selected for the room’s size and light, then calibrated after installation.
Projection and screens
Laser projection or large-format displays, with screen material matched to the room and the light control available.
Dolby Atmos
Immersive Dolby Atmos speaker layouts with in-ceiling and in-wall speakers placed to the design guidelines.
Calibration
Picture and sound calibrated in the finished room, so the system performs the way it was designed.
One button to start the movie
The theater ties into lighting, shades and whole-home control.
Lighting scenes
Step lights, wall washers and scenes for entry, movie and intermission with Lutron lighting control.
Comfort
Climate and shades join the scene, so the room is ready when you sit down.
Working with architects and builders
Theaters are best planned at the drawings, before framing.
Drawings review
Room dimensions, screen wall, seating and rack location agreed with the architect and designer.
Pre-wire and rough-in
Speaker, display and control wiring run and documented with the builder. See our builder program.
Install and trim
Screen, projector, speakers and equipment installed after finishes.
Calibration and handover
Picture and sound calibrated, the system programmed in-house and the family shown how to use it.
See it in the field.
From private estates to institutional projects — our work spans South Florida's most demanding addresses.

What is the difference between a home theater and a media room?
A dedicated theater is built only for film, with light control, acoustic treatment and tiered seating. A media room is a shared living space that also works well for movies and sports.
How much does a custom home theater cost?
It depends on the room size, construction and equipment. We provide a written, itemized proposal after reviewing the drawings or visiting the space.
When should we plan the theater in a new build?
At the drawings stage, before framing, so room dimensions, isolation, wiring and the equipment location are right.
Do you install Dolby Atmos?
Yes. We design and install Dolby Atmos speaker layouts and calibrate them in the finished room.
Can the theater be controlled with the rest of the home?
Yes. Lighting, shades and climate can be part of the movie scene with Control4 or Savant.
Do you work with architects, designers and builders?
Yes. We join at the drawings, attend coordination meetings and deliver documentation for the theater wiring and equipment.
